With the death of our 'Sunday School God' and the manipulation of religious history for political ends, where do we turn? Where do we go to find spiritual solace in a topsy-turvy world? How can we unleash our own creativity, be guided by curiosity, become more fully ourselves, play a more significant part in the healing of the world?

Guild work centers on traditional and non-traditional texts, but without a theological bias. In a typical seminar, for instance, leaders pose questions with the understanding that all points of view are a vital part of the work. We encourage answers from people of differing backgrounds and ideas as we explore the richness of soul life. We also work in non-verbal ways: art, music, movement, and engagement with the natural world.

We come to the work with hearts struggling to hold both the beauty and movement of eros all around us and wounded by the meaninglessness and fear churning in a tempestuous world. We do not try to redeem traditions which have died, but to discover what is most alive, in ourselves and in the world.

The Source is a vast darkness that is nonetheless filled with light and contains the potential for billions of universes and billions of beings.

CHOOSING LIFE'S FULLNESS
Living the Grandeur that is Within You
In past centuries much of the spiritual work in the west has focused on the Intellect and the Will. Although these have brought special gifts, many of the gifts now feel like relics unrelated to the opportunities and demands of modern living. An overemphasis on Intellect and Will feels burdened with incomprehensible beliefs and restrictive behaviors that set us up for failure. Such a path feels dull, cold, harsh and like someone else's rather than our own -- and not desirable.
The Guild work is focused instead on the aliveness of the Divine Imagination --unlimited possibility:

living from one's inner authority
following wisdom in working creatively and spontaneously with life's most difficult issues
liberation and fullness
developing authentic relationships
celebrating uniqueness
following the deepest longings of the heart
loving wisely
being conscious participants in the unfolding of an unfinished universe
and
delighting in the interconnectivity of all life.
We in the Guild have found this path to be the way of the person Jesus, whose teachings, as we explore them make gifts of imagining available to us. The work is not about copying Jesus. Rather, his teachings are a springboard toward a more joyous creativeness in all life -- and our place in it.
